Can you freeze cooked chow mein? Need answer pretty fast

This aternoon, the staff at my apartments brought in a whole big pile of chow mein, rice, something I didn’t recognize, and pita bread for us residents. I got there when it was almost over and there was a donkey load of food out on the table; I just asked for a plateload but Mel who works here encouraged me to take a whole lot, because he was just about to wrap it up. In fact Mel pressed a 12"x24" catering pan of chow mein on me, and a big Tupperwear thing full of rice. Plus a dozen pita breads. It’s okay chow mein, I’m eating a bowl right now–but I’ve still got a haybale of the stuff, and our refrigerator just hasn’t got the space to put it in. There’s plenty of room in the freezer though, and I’d just hate to have to toss this much food. Would storing it frozen and then reheating it disrupt the flavor and texture of the food? I need an answer fairly quick before it gets dried out and inedible on my kitchen table. Thank you. Please?

You can freeze it. Wrapped carefully. It may suffer a little. I bet it will be ok.
I’d put it in individual portions in ziplock freezer bags.
The rice won’t freeze well in my opinion.

Oh, thank you so much for telling me that! I’ve got enough big, freezer-grade ziplock bags to hold it all, hopefully, and the leftover rice is already in the fridj. Thanks again for your kindly and rapid response.

If you freeze a rice dish, it does need a bit of rehydration when it’s reheated.
