Can you help me ID this old text game?

I played this text adventure game on a BBS about thirteen years ago. It was more like a MUD than, say, Zork, but wasn’t multi-user. I know I played a wizard type because I used spells to fight with, but I can’t remember if there were different classes to choose from.

I remember that early on, you went into the woods and fought a giant spider, which may have sometimes dropped a ring. Then much, much later in the game, there was a rainbow which had centaurs to fight in it, and you walked from band to band, I believe.

I doubt anyone else hung out at the same place, but just in case, it was the CentralTech BBS in the 315 area code.

Doesn’t sound familiar, but you maybe you can find it on this list of BBS Door games or on one of the linked sites.

Thanks - I’ve poked through similar sites before and haven’t come up with anything, but I’ll give it another go. There’s a lot to sort through in this one for sure.

The only fantasy genre game I ever heard of as popular on BBSes was Legend of the Red Dragon - never played it, myself.
