LoRD - text based adventuring !!

Legend of the Red Dragon, LoRD.

Does anyone still play it? Did anyone addictively wait for midnight to play the next days moves? Did you ever get the bar maid?

I loved that game and am very happy to see it still running all over the net…

Are there any other games of the era you loved?

Wow, now that game is a blast from the past. I remember dialing up a local BBS (Moonbase Alpha, you were the best) to play that on a daily basis back in 1993. I’m not sure I have the patience to play a door game like that nowadays, particularly without having people at my middle school to talk to every morning about the progress I’ve made.

I remember really loving Baron Realms Elite, Solar Realms, and Trade Wars as games in that sort of vein as being really fun, but nothing beat LoRD. There was another dungeon crawler door game that I remember liking almost as much as (even more than?) LoRD, but its name escapes me.

Trade Wars - OMG! That was great fun. Some of the other faculty setup a BBS for that back in…I don’t know 1990?

It’s still available for play at http://lord.lordlegacy.com/

Odd, that address will not resolve with Google’s DNS servers, but it will with Cox’s. (I usually use Google because Cox hijacks invalid URLs.)
