It will surprise only some of you that the Diazepam injector looks nothing like the device in the OP’s photos. The Diazepam injector is white and not really very cylindrical. It couldn’t possibly be confused with the item in the photo. The person in the OP’s photos looks like he’s carrying a flashlight.
Interesting subject. It’s obviously a flash light of some kind, not a syringe, and one with a tight beam that appaers to be used as a pointer. Well lit or not - which is hard to tell from footage shot with a professional camera - this device seems hardly capable of actually lightening a path. This lends at least some credence to the Parkinson’s theory. The fact that this guy seems to be next to her the whole time with the device in his hand (and not in his pocket) at least tells us it’s pretty important for her.
Any medical doctor around to uhm … shed some light on that issue?
Well of course you can’t: He’s not aiming it straight at the camera.
And I really don’t get the jumping to conclusions in that link. First of all, from the still picture, it could be absolutely anything (my first guess was just “pen”). Second, even if it were somehow possible to identify it as an autoinjector, how do they conclude Diazepam? Plenty of drugs come in autoinjectors, and Diazepam isn’t even the most common of them. If I saw someone with an autoinjector, I’d assume it was epinephrine. Heck, I dunno, maybe Clinton is allergic to beestings, or something.
I was responding to Colophon’s statement that you can see the light from it. I can’t.
Even the bit that people are describing as illumination of the other person’s sleeve doesn’t seem super clear to me. I see a sort of light feature, but it’s only visible really brielfy and it could be anything - spot illumination from some other source - a contrast highlight etc.
It’s undeniable that the guy is pointing the thing in the way that people point light sources.
Watch the animated GIF. Right at the end, in the last few frames, you can see the light on the edge of the sleeve of the man in the lighter grey jacket:
More specifically I believe it is a SecuriLed flashlight with the optional “fluorescent tactical button” on the back. You can see the green button in both the GIF and still photos.
"Colophon, not sure that is it. There is something light colored on the tail end of the device he is holding, but he appears to me to be pressing a switch on the side of the tube, not the tail end of it.
The flash of white light on the sleeve does look light a flashlight, not a red, green, or purple laser, but if it is a flashlight, there remains the puzzle of the brightly lighted white floor in first picture, where he appears to be looking at the floor in front of Hillary and pointing the device at the same area.
I tried a search for ‘flashlight and laser pointer’ and found lots of devices that look similar to the one in the pictures. They cycle through the different modes by repeated pressing of the switch; some go first click = flashlight, second click = laser, third click = combo.
A combination flashlight and laser pointer seems to fit what we are seeing; the laser would be visible on the white floor, and the flash of light on the gray sleeve could be the first press of the switch, while the second press turns off the flashlight and turns on the laser (which we don’t see in the video – just a quick flash of light, then end of video – is he pressing the switch a second time?).
