Can you identify this movie? (French resistance fighter shot in a church)

A friend of mine only remembers one scene from it, but it’s pretty striking.

Takes place during WWII. A man and a woman are members of the French resistance, working separately. They are due to meet in a church and the man is to pass on key information to the women.

The woman goes into the church and sits in a pew. She sees the man enter the church, and as he comes toward her, two German soldiers come out of the shadows and shoot him. She runs over to the man and as she cradles him, he whispers the key information to her, but we don’t hear what he says and then he dies. One of the German soldiers steps forward and demands of the woman, “What did he say to you!”

The woman looks up and says defiantly, “What did he say?? On his deathbed, every man calls out for his mother!”

That’s basically all I know… sound familiar to anyone?
