Can you use AOL from another Web access?

Suppose somebody uses AOL dialup as their usual route to the Web. If they then get some other Web access, are they supposed to be able to access their AOL account, mailbox, etc by navigating to the AOL page?

Yes. You can check your mail. You can also get their Bring Your Own Access plan wgherein you can use all of AOL via a cable modem or DSL.

You can do it through the website (aol.com) or open up your AOL program and use the TCP/IP setting as “Location”.

If you’re going to use the AOL program over someone else’s connection, call them up and tell them you want to use the bring your own access plan. That costs significantly less per month.
