Canadian Child Support question

I have a quick question about child support in Ontario/Canada.

My husband was one of the many affected by the economic downturn in Ontario over the last few years and is unemployed. Soon his Employment Insurance will run out.

According to the child support tables, when he makes no money, his child support payments are 0.

Since his ex-wife has an evil side (don’t all ex-wife according to the new wife  ), my husband has had the thought that she might try to come after us when the payments drop to 0 to get some of my money as child support on the basis that my husband gets income via me.

Does anyone know if she can legally do this? We are just speculating right now based on her personality - if this were really happening I would go to a lawyer.

(Note that I don’t want to see his daughters deprived but their mother does have a good job, she got the house and all of the furnishings, she also has income that she never declared in the support payment decision (ie taking in a boarder and selling regal crap. Before my husband and I got together he was living with his brother and wasn’t able to afford his own place or anything between his support payments and the debt he took out of the marriage. I have provided the house and most of the furniture where we live now and every other weekend when we have the girls and I have spent ‘my own money’ on additional stuff for the girls. Their mother can afford a maid service, and has bought a new DVD and surround sound stereo system etc etc in the past year or so and we are being frugal and live without a maid service and have old stereo/tv stuff - mainly originally mine). Sorry if this is whinging or ranting!)
