Canadian comedy showdown: Corner Gas Vs Trailer Park Boys

Hot damn, we DO get it here. It starts tomorrow and I’ve got the TiVo set for a Season Pass.

And yes, part of the allure is seeing who they’ve got for guest cameos (the recent one from the premier of Saskatchewan was a nice touch, we thought. And Brent bugging Lloyd Robertson was a Canadian comedy classic - Lloyd Robertson is the Canadian equivalent of Walter Cronkite, having been doing the national news for approximately 200 years now.)

My personal favourite was Adrienne Clarkson, who was presented as a ‘typical Canadian’ who wanted to take part in the ‘typical Canadian’ activity of destroying a barn. Funny stuff.

Oh, and I like Little Mosque too - but that might be more because someone I went to school with is on it.

I haven’t had the pleasure of Little Mosque, but I’m pretty sure it would resonate with me. I lived in Lac La Biche, Alberta, which has a pretty huge Lebanese population.

I tried to watch “Little Mosque” since I was born and raised in Saskatchewan, but it has the CBC stink of trying way too hard and being totally out of touch with what real live Canadians actually think is funny. In my opinion, of course.

When is this supposed to be on? The link to the Corner Gas website didn’t work and there’s no mention of it on the WGN website. I really want to check this out, so please help!

4:00 and 4:30 EST today, then 12:00 am Tuesday through Friday.
