At this point, the Freedumb protestors have pretty much settled in to the normal background level of protest we expect in Ottawa. If you follow reports on the r/Ottawa reddit, there’s pretty much always a few of them somewhere in town. Apparently they were out by the detention center on Innes Road yesterday protesting about Tamara Lich being a “political prisoner.”
She’s been released.

He’s the Lauren Boebert of Ontario, but with suspenders instead of a sidearm. A small-minded conservative who was kicked out of the Ontario Progressive Conservative caucus after insulting families of kids with autism back in 2018, sitting as an independent ever since.
He has been behind the convoys and supporting anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers since the mandates were imposed. He was making veiled (and not-so-veiled) threats against Justin Trudeau and other politicians on Twitter.
Since our parties have a lot more internal discipline, he will not stand as a PC candidate in the elections in a few month and has no chance of winning re-election as an independent. One more reason I’m thankful we don’t have the US primary process up here

If I do catch wind of a group of these assholes heading my way, I can assure you that I will join in with many other who will not let these fuckers anywhere near downtown. I would favour blocking them before they can get on a ferry.
Indeed, apparently about 16,000 of them will be hauled along, and I’m guessing to last for the three months that the muh-roons evidently plan to stay in Victoria. Within three weeks of their making, hopefully food poisoning should kick in.

Agreed. There have been no reports of freedumb convoys that I’m aware of. And given the price of fuel, I think the chances are slim to none. That being said, can you imagine the chaos if hundreds of trucks descended on the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal? They would block the highway all the way back to the tunnel. What a nightmare that would be!
