This is a company that apparently sells this product to marketers, to target folks by classifying them based on where they live. They give a free sample where you put your postal code in, and it spits out a “segment” analysis.
Somewhat off. Confuses my street with townhouses a few blocks away. Weird neighbourhood though; combination of rental properties and pretty expensive renovated/infilled inner city homes. I can see how they got it wrong.
Judging from my neighbours I think that it is overestimating the household income by $40,000 or so but other than that I think the demographics are pretty close.
It says my neighbourhood is “concentrated in Alberta and The Prairies”, which is about 2 provinces away from where I am. It also makes us sound like a bunch of rednecks.
Looked up my parent’s retirement community address - demographic was spot on (“baby boomers”), but apparently these residents enjoy expressing their opinions on technology (they feel it is passing them by) and capital punishment (which they support.)
So I’m taking this site with a few grains of salt as being tongue-in-cheek.
Not even close. It says the neighborhood is mainly made up of poorer young people and single-parent families. In reality it’s mostly made up of middle-to-high income middle-aged and retired people. I think it’s confusing the area with another a few klicks away.
