Canadope 2015: Battlestar Canadica

Wouldn’t it be easier to hire cashiers who are 18 and older and leave the child labourers stocking shelves, sewing Nike’s, making iPads, mining coal or something equally appropriate to their age level?

I want to reiterate that beer is only being sold at 58 grocery stores in Ontario. Not 58 stores in Toronto or 58 communities in Ontario. Just 58 stores.

And strangely one of the chosen stores is my preferred grocer in Stittsville, of all places. I don’t know if I’ll ever buy beer there, but why the hell that particular store was chosen is amusing.

So, it’s 16 freakin’ degrees here and I’m about to take my daughter out shopping.

If any of you know Ottawa, I’m going to stroll around The Market and have a couple of pints while she shops.

This is glorious!

I want snow so that I can go skiing!

You’ll get your snow eventually. For the rest of humanity this is just wonderful.

Say that again, and your citizenship will be revoked.

And the TV news showed people playing golf in Toronto and Montreal, while I looked out my window at the snow piling up and dreading my drive downtown today. I made it there and back safely, but I’d rather be playing golf.

Muffin, and hogarth, if you want snow and great skiing conditions, come on out here. We’ve got plenty!

Sounds lovely. Is the Duke of York still there?

Blah.

Daughter left all her shopping till last minute and I didn’t get a chance to stroll the market. Stupid kids.

That sounds familiar. I think I’ve had a couple of pints there.

I think I know what place you’re talking about. I’m going to make it down to the market over the holidays one way or another dammit!

Hey Canucks, check out the 50s on CPAC right now. Interesting stuff, at least for me. It’s on for a while: numerous episodes till 12:30 I see.

Damn. I’m upset that you folks aren’t watching this!

I hope you all had a good Christmas.

Happy Boxing Day

We hit a deer.

See MPSIMS thread: “One less deer in Saskatchewan last night.”

Spending Boxing Day driving home in the towing rig, with Piper Car on the flatbed. Must say, one of our more memorable Boxing Days!
