Canadope 2015: Battlestar Canadica

It does make for a good story though! I’m happy everyone is fine. It could have been disastrous! And at this time of year too.

Three people dead here in a Christmas Day head on collision on a city street. I can’t even comprehend the sadness of the immediate families.

Take care people.

That’s terrible. How fast could they have been going for three deaths?

We’re all fine and the Cub is fast asleep in the back of the cab. Could have been much worse.

My thoughts exactly. Last week a drunk driver was clocked at 152 KPH in an 80 zone. Not the same street but similar north/south route.

Reports today say one car was passing another at dusk. Merry Christmas.

The biggest problem around here in winter is the length of time the sun hangs near the horizon as it gets towards dusk. I drove home yesterday, with sunglasses on, the useless visor down, and I still had to hold one hand out to block the intense sunshine so I could see the road. Hereabouts, accidents due to sun-blindness are very common in winter.

Hey. I "liked’ your post, cause I just discovered that Tapatalk has I “like” button.

Appreciate the thought, Leaffan, even though it doesn’t show up here on the SDMB.

On another note, 152 km/h in an 80 zone? Man, there’s drunk, and then there’s drunk. Wow!

Large ruminant mammals vs vehicles are never good to hear.
Glad you are fine, Northern Piper. Oddly, I know more people who have walked away from deer/moose collisions than have succumbed, which I think is not statistically typical.

I haven’t been prolific this year, but I see it may change. I see a lot of travelling happening this year, and a whole bunch of other changes. It’s nice to make contact with other Dopers near and far.

I hope 2016 is kind to everyone.

Happy New Year, fellow Canucks! I think I posted something on the first day of this thread, so I figured I should pop in for the last day.

Northern, glad everyone is OK. On successive summers a few years back, we hit a moose and a deer. Scary stuff.

Well, since (as of this writing) the New Year has already started crossing Canada, it looks like Leaffan has the most posts in this year’s Canadope thread, with 76. Northern Piper was a very close second, with 75.

So, Leaffan, it looks like you get to start the 2016 Canadope thread. Congratulations!

Woo hoo! I’m waiting till 12:01 EST.

Oh, great. Now, you’re up to 77 posts, and my count is off.

Merry new years…mas folks.

Missed it by that much!
