Candy Bar Manufacturing Question

I’m looking at the bottom of a Milky Way bar right now, and noticing a set of zig-zag lines grouped in a fairly regular pattern. My question is, does anyone know what these are?

The joker in me guesses this is the pattern on the conveyor belt the candy bars lay on when manufactured, but i can’t believe it’s that simple. Anyone?

That’s exactly it.

Also, the conveyor belt is more of an open grid (kind of like a wire fence) than a flat surface with a pattern on it. The candy bar-to be lies on the grid and is immersed in chocolate, which allows it to be covered on all sides.

Seen it on the tv one time.
