Candy that makes you go "Meh"

Marizipan is potentially the prettiest candy in the world, I’ve seen it formed into many beautiful and colorful shapes, but why would anyone eat it?

This is just wrong.

PB on crackers; great. PB on Triscuits? Ick! Triscuits have the wrong texture for PB.

As for candy, I’m sort of with those who say any candy. In a way. I used to love candy. Large bags of Necco conversation hearts were consumed around Valentine’s Day. Yes, that is bags as in multiple, and they were the 12-16 ounce size. These days I get a box of my favorite chocolates at Christmas…and don’t open them until March.

Eating peanut butter and chocolate together is to the detriment of both flavors, IME. Besides, if you scooped the sugary “peanut butter” out of a Reese’s cup and spread it on bread, my Og, then you’d gag!

So don’t eat it without a drink. I’ve never had any problem with the mouth-roof thing.

White chocolate is not. It’s cocoa butter and sugar. No chocolate at all.

White chocolate is made of cocoa butter, milk, and sugar. Regulations also govern what may be marketed as “white chocolate”: In the United States, since 2004, white chocolate must be at least 20% cocoa butter (by weight), at least 14% total milk solids, at least 3.5% milk fat, and less than 55% sugar or other sweeteners.[1] Before this date, U.S. firms required temporary marketing permits to sell white chocolate. The European Union has adopted the same standards, except that there is no limit on sugar or sweeteners

Is this stuff still made? When I was a kid, everybody bought it at Christmas time. I always hated it-it was like having a mouthful of broken glass. It had no flavor-just sugar (although brightly colored).

Ah, you never went to Catholic school. The point of Necco wafers is that they are, if you will, the canonical candy for playing Communion in the schoolyard

I remember a few years ago Reese’s came out with their own brand of peanut butter available next to the Jiff and Skippy at the store and I was madly disappointed that it was just regular peanut butter and not the sugary crystalized madness that lives in the heart of the peanut butter cups.

I’m not even going to comment on the dark chocolate/pretzel thing, except to say…More for me, then!

My list includes anything with coconut like an Almond Joy, and Dots and Jujy Fruits.

Dude. On-point or not, you win post of the day.

I half-expected more outraged defenders of Peeps (fresh or stale) to rise to the occasion.

As I reported elsewhere on the Board, the wife and I brought back some Easter candy for her family after a trip to the US at that time of year. No one would touch the peeps. Said they looked evil.

They are.
