Can't connect to Facebook on IE, but Chrome is OK

What could cause trying to open a web page to fail on one browser but work fine on another? My wife’s computer won’t bring up facebook on IE but I installed Chrome to see what would happen and it worked fine. It also works fine on IE on three other computers on our home network. I can ping and tracert facebook from her computer just fine.

Any ideas?

Do you have problems with any sites besides FB?

Almost certainly a piece of malware, although a poorly coded addon is also possible. Scan your computer.

I would have tried accessing FB’s IP directly from IE, if the problem still existed.
