IE freezes when accessing Facebook

When I go to check Facebook and IE freezes. Sometimes I notice it says it’s “redirecting” and it just freezes there. Sometimes I get in and I can see the latest stuff from friends but it freezes before I can do anything.

I usually have multiple tabs up and when I go into FB, and I can’t switch to a different tab while FB finishes loading (if that’s what’s happening—but I don’t think it is). I can’t click on anything within Facebook. Task mgr shows 100% CPU usage, although the individual processes aren’t that out of whack from how they look otherwise.

All other sites work as usual.

Any ideas?

What kind of toolbars do you have installed in IE? Turn them off one by one, then visit Facebook, and see if the problem goes away.

Yup. Get rid of IE and use Firefox.

I have several installed but most turned off. Only one I’m using is Yahoo. It would make sense if FB hadn’t been working just fine till recently.

I used IE for a long time, switched to Netscape, then switched back to IE.

OK, I’m going to try again. If I’m not back in five minutes…wait a little longer.

ETA And as mysteriously as the problem came, it has gone…

Opera does it too.
