What is going on with my internet explorer?

About two hours ago my IE froze up, i closed out of it, restarted my computer and now every time i go to open up IE (or MSN) i receive this message:

[Traceback (most recent call last):
', File “c:\pyagcore\pyagcore/init.py”, line 6, in <module>
’ 'ImportError:Bad Magic Number in C:\programfiles\AGI\common\pyagcore\regutil.pyc
']

I then click on the OK which is the only option and get a message stating that IE has requested Runtime to terminate the application in an unusual way.

I do have internet connection (i am currently using the option of “IE without add-ons”

But what is going on with my regular IE and MSN?

Googling “bad magic number” suggests there may be some problem with the hard disk’s directory (most of the hits seem to be Unix/Linux-related though).

Googling pyagcore suggests you may have installed something recently that is either actively Bad, or at least incompatible with your system. Have you added any software / plugins / toolbars lately or visited any dodgy websites?

I’ll have to talk with my sister, she was using this when it started to act up.

I however did make a visit to a certain adult site today…i have visited it numerous times before though and never had a problem.

Do you have the KIWEE Toolbar installed (C:/PROGRAM FILES/KIWEE TOOLBAR)?

Yes I do.

Some advice from a computer dude, I wouldn’t surf with IE, especially to adult sites. Use Firefox or Opera.

Uninstall it. It is considered adware, and is probably causing the problem you describe.

uninstall the KIWEE bar if it’s adware, definitely. Another thing I’d do is

1st, download a fresh install of IE.

2nd, completely uninstall your current version of IE (do this after number for obvious reasons)

3rd, install the fresh version.

Honestly though, I’d take the chance to upgrade to Firefox or Opera. MUCH better browsers (I personally use Firefox because I like a lot of the add-ons, but Opera is perfectly good if you just want the browsing experience).

Oh, and if you stick to streaming video adult sites, there’s not much chance they can screw up your browser. I’m reasonably well versed in such matters

Just stay away from toolbars, mouse cursors, smiley packs, screensavers, etc. Anything you see on a flashing obnoxious ad banner, BEWARE.

I installed Firefox with Adblock Plus on my mom’s computer for this very reason. She’s kind of one of those “oooh, shiny! click” type people

If you want to browse some of the interesting parts of the web, use something like sandboxie (http://sandboxie.com) to prevent them from putting crap on your computer
