It’s been a while since i’ve been somewhere cold. It was a balmy 12f (-11c) with an anemic sun as the high, and a scrotum shrinking -11f (-23 c) low. Needless to say, although this is my first time in the ancient capital of Manchuria (Shenyang), I’m firmly ensconced in the hotel and not planning on doing any sightseeing. I’ve got to make a foray out in a BMW 5-series to another hotel and back again. I only mention the BMW because I was at the BMW factory here today - damn impressive with a completely robotic production line for the 3 series.
At this latitude, it was dark by 5:00 and I’m sure it’s going to be dark when I leave the hotel for a 8:00 am flight to Beijing tomorrow. Joy of international travel as one kills time on line in the hotel.
A friend of mine used to live in Shenyang. While he was there it gained the distinction of being “most polluted place on earth”. He said the air outside was orange.
Glancing down the page, I initially read the thread title as China Can’t hide your bald spot when it’s -11 f outside, and I thought, Damn! That’s a big bald spot!
