Cant install something - HELP!!!

I just installed a Radeaon 7000 card on my computer and Norton glitched the install. I tried to uninstall it and got no confirmation when I did. When I reboot the computer the screen is totally glitched out. I put the old video card in, and tried to import a verison of the registry I made a week ago. When I boot up with the old card, the ATI 7000 “media center” still comes into the toolbar. I try to unistall to no avail.

WTF?!??!?!

If this doesn’t work I need to take it back.

HELP!

Okay, calm down.

First: What version of Windows?

Second: Have you tried booting into Safe Mode (F8 at startup)? If so, was it successful?

Third: Did you completely uninstall the old card’s drivers before installing the new card?

General ATI cleanup instructions:

DO NOT REBOOT.[/li][li]Install the ATI Control Panel (Catalyst 3.7 version) from the ATI website.[/li][li]Reboot.[/li][li]Install the latest ATI Multimedia Center from the ATI website.[/li][li]Reboot.[/li][/ul]
This should clean out all your old drivers and software, leaving you with a clean installation of the most current software. Particulars may vary depending on your OS. Deleting files and registry entries may be dangerous, use caution. When in doubt, don’t delete. If you hose your system, no suing me. No curses, hexes, or naked photos of Janet Reno in e-mail either.

Thanks Alereon, I’ll be getting to that tonight when I get home. I actually realized that I need to take the card off. The Mobo is the older AGP with the 3.3 voltage. So I’ll follow your instructions up until I install the Catalyst drivers.

Thanks.
