When I try and search, the screen hangs for a long time (as if it’s waiting to open), then I get a “you are trying to open a .PHP application. Would you like to use Dreamweaver?” message box.
I get that the board uses PHP, and I use Dreamweaver to write PHP pages for our website. But I can’t use Dreamweaver to search!!!
I’m on a WinXP Pro box, using Firefox 2.0 and Dreamweaver MX2004.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rhythm
(I hope this is a GQ and not ATBM, since it doesn’t seem to be SDMB specific. I just rarely use any other message boards.)
Sounds like a file association problem. In ‘Content’ tab of the Firefox Preferences, there’s a ‘file types’ button that takes you to a dialog allowing you to define which program will be used to open which type of file - mine has nothing at all in there for .php - I’m suspecting yours will have an entry telling it to use Dreamweaver.
I use this combo at home and at work. You might want to check inside Dreamweaver MX (Menu bar > Site > Edit sites… to see if you have enabled “Server Technology” on any of your sites.
Otherwise, what Mangetout said.
