Wow, three new people! All right (**Honey ** you are most definitely welcome, and I’m adding you to my list!)
October 15th, at the Altamont Orchards. I will update sometime in the beginning of October with a time, and if someone needs a carpool then we can work it out then. Also if you all have your e-mails in your profile, I’ll send you an e-mail with directions, the website, etc., or you can e-mail me at elenia25@gmail.com.
We are going apple-picking, then a hayride, and afterwards we’ll figure it out. Some people have long drives, so they may have to leave early, but we’ll try to have dinner together at least, and then whomever wants to, we can hit a bar or sample the Albany nightlife (HA!)

I’ll e-mail everyone tonight as well, and we can plan on a time. I just called them, and they do apple picking from 10 AM to 4 PM. Should we meet around noon, to give the out-of-town Dopers time to get in? I’m sure there’s some place down there we can go for lunch.
I have traveled the past two weekends, and will travel again the next two weekends (22nd and 29th) so I need a break at some point. And with gas prices being so high, so does my wallet. Maybe next time.
You know, I think that one fest in Montreal must have been some crazy freak of nature. It is willed, I think, that you and I cannot possibly be in the same place at the same time.
Anyway, I’m still planning on it. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the weather’ll be that nice.
Unless Altamont’s grown drastically in the last couple years, there really isn’t any place out there for lunch. So anyone coming in from a distance might want to stop somewhere closer to Albany for food.
I just finally glanced at this thread. I’m not in or anything; I live in Rhode Island. But, I went to Guilderland High School back in the day. What a blast from the past these name places are.
Just wanted to chime in and say it’s sadistically refreshing to see that the same ‘herding cats’ phenomenon that occurs down here when trying to get a bunch of local dopers together also manifests itself up on your end of the Hudson.
Let’s make that the plan, shall we? Does everyone know how to get there? Please check in, so I know you’re all OK…I’ll try to e-mail you all later.
12:00 Coffee shop, Border’s Bookstore, Wolf Rd. It’s exit 2E off the Northway.
Going Southbound: Make your way into the far left lane and make a left onto Wolf Rd. Pass the mall on your right, Border’s is just past the Dunkin Donuts on your right hand side.
Going Northbound: Go straight through Central Avenue onto Wolf Rd. Pass the mall on your right, Border’s is just past the Dunkin Donuts on your right hand side.
John, I think of it the other way - if a big place like NYC could have troubles, then it makes sense for us to have them also. But **Exgineer ** is really a stinker!
Sheesh. You’re acting like I shot your dog or something.
It’s not like I’m stopping you from actually holding a Dopefest or anything. You’ve still got six people coming, and all you’ll be missing is the freaky dude in the corner.
