Car Alarms

I was lying in bed the other day and a car alarm went off.

Hmmph i thought and rolled over and went back to sleep.

Does anyone pay any attention to car alarms now? They seem to go off so much that they have become meaningless and everyone ignores, or tries to ignore, them.

What is the point of them? Do they actually work?

If I ever wanted to steal a car, I would go for the one with the alarm already going off, cause everyone ignores car alarms.
