Porsche crashes into second floor of Toms River building — 2 dead

How did this happen? I haven’t mapped it, but is there an elevated road next to the building or something?

From an article on the same site linked to in O.P.:

[The car was] heading north on Hooper Avenue toward Brick when [control of the car was lost] and [it] hit the center median, continuing north and striking an embankment…

That caused the vehicle to go airborne into the building, which it smashed through, leaving a gaping hole.

Skid marks could be seen on the eastbound side of Hooper Avenue heading toward the center median and the building. The car landed upside down with its bumper landing on the front lawn.

There’s no elevated road.

Looking at some news clips online, you can see the skid marks and the ditch where they launched from. But for them to have been skidding, either because they were braking or going sideways, for that long (so, slowing down) and then going that high and that far, I have to guess they were pushing 150ish mph. Anything slower and I’d think they would have lost too much momentum to get catapulted like that.
