I sold cars for awhile in my mid-20s and was terrible at it. Got fired from one place after 9 months of low sales and bounced around to another couple of dealerships before giving up on it for good.
Bottom line, some people can sell but most can’t. It’s in your personality and can’t be taught or learned. You either have the gift for it or you don’t, I don’t.

Yeah. It didn’t help that he was a big tub o’ guts, constantly sweating, looking like an unmade bed (not easy when you’re just wearing khakis and a workshirt), and an obvious blowhard who didn’t know when to let up on a customer. If I hadn’t been near the end of my employment there, we’d have eventually had a confrontation about it.
