Carbonated Rainbow

Or reach back in time about 35 years and get a bottle of Anna Banana pop.

Been a couple years since I’ve had one, but IIRC, Stewart’s Key Lime soda is greenish and tastes like a liquefied key lime pie.

If you want something actually GREEN, I’d make a Midori spritzer.

Oh gosh that is so good! It’s greener than it used to be though. And they make an orange-n- cream flavor that is good too and might be better than Sunkist or Crush for an Orange soda.

I only ever buy Stewarts from the commissary (because it is too expensive and hard to find for me most of the time) and I am like 45 minutes away from a base right now, but I am thinking it might be worth the drive soon. I just wish they made the really good flavors in diet (20 years of drinking diet soda has decreased my tolerance for the real stuff. I like it but it makes me thirsty. ;))

Now, now, now… wouldn’t we all be happier if we accepted that we’re not really looking for GRAPE flavor. I mean, if you really wanted to experience that, wouldn’t you just… I don’t know… eat a bunch of grapes?

Face it. We’re looking for that indescribable, ineffable PURPLE flavor. Mmmm…
Better than any fruit of the vine. Better than any orange or cherry flavor.

Was it Chris Rock who said “Ya see those kids in that Sunny-D commercial? And they got that shot from inside the fridge? And they’re all grabbing for the fakey orange stuff? Not the kid from the hood. He’s grabbing That Purple Juice!”

Grape Nehi, Grape Faygo, Grape Crush, Boylan Bottleworks Grape, Fitz’s “Premium Micro-Brewed La-De-Dah Grape Pop”…

It’s all good, 'cause it all tastes like Purple.

I fixed the spelling in the thread title (had been “Carbinated”), for those scratching their heads about the joke.

I enjoy the orange and grape sodas sold by Aldi’s.

Sorry-that was a very obscure joke on my part.

I think too many of you are ignoring the OP and concentrating on colors. I am looking for the best tasting orange, strawberry and grape sodas available. I don’t like pineapple or lime soda, and I don’t care if the color is off.

I’m with An Gadaí on the Club Orange recommendation. I can get it around here in a few places, but it’s pretty expensive. It’s the best tasting orange soda I’ve had.

Izze Sparkling Clementine is a good runner up, and for pure sticky sweet orange taste, I’ll go with Orange Crush in 3rd place.

I like Hansen’s Valencia Orange. It’s difficult to find the non-diet version (the “real” version is 90 calories for a 10.5 oz can, with cane sugar not HFCS). The other Hansen’s flavors are not so great. Izze makes some tasty stuff as well.

Welch’s is the best grape soda. The orange is good, and better than the other brands I have tried.

Oops, sorry, should I change it back? No, wait, you can change it back yourself it you feel strongly about it.

The best Orange Pop I ever had was on an electric July Night in the 70’s … I’m not even sure how old I was. I just remember my Mom gave me a quarter, so I could run across the street to the pop machine and get myself a cold pop on a hot night. I was so thirsty and hot that I couldn’t wait to run the hundred feet home to drink it. I popped that Orange Crush and I remember the orange being so bright and searing in my nose- It burnt just a bit going down but was right on the edge, it was like a razor cutting through the thirst. Sweet Carbolic Nectar… I like Grape Crush too, for that bite. I haven’t had a Crush in years though, it disappeared for a long time in the area, but apparently is available again… I doubt it even tastes the same as I remember it, and /or they have changed the recipe by corporate cheapening.

Also, At the time, Crush had the best and most evocative Graphic Art. One of the top ten logos of the 70’s, IMHO. Iconic.

For orangish type soda, I like DietRite tangerine. It has a bright tangerine flavor rather than the sweeter orange one.

Ah, Filbert’s. That’s a small, family soda making and bottling business here in Chicago. I didn’t realize they distribute outside this area. Plenty of Chicagoans haven’t heard of 'em. They’re probably best known for their root beer, and they also make sodas (like upscale root beers and cream sodas) for some of the fancy restaurants in town that have their own “in-house” recipes for these things.

Picked it up on my way to work today-loved it!

You would have to go back to the 70s when they still used real sugar, but:

Nesbitt’s for orange soda, and Grape Crush for grape soda.

Local store just got in a shipment of various Faygo flavors-I’ll let you know how they are.

Our Crest supermarkets (OKC) just got in a whole slew of different Crush flavours. I’ll let you know if they rauk.

The Orange is still good. Doesn’t have quite the ZING! I remember from my youth, but very good none-the-less.

Last Halloween, I bought some Jones Soda in Blood Orange flavor that was mighty tasty. Not sure if they sell it year-round, though.

The World Market near me sells a good grape soda, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called. I thought it was made by Dad’s Root Beer Company, but I don’t see a grape brand on their website.

Dunno if it’s still around, but back in the mid-late 70s, Nesbitts had a cream soda that was Windex blue. The color notwithstanding, it tasted pretty good.
