Wow, my first thread. I hope I put it in the right place.
I’m an avid three-cushion billiards (carom billiards) fan who is fascinated by angles. By extension, I love raquetball and other things that involve angles and at which I am terrible. The problem, though, is that I can’t get my wife to go to the poolroom with me because of the smoke/late hours/crass and excessive gambling and/or whoofing that goes on there/drinking/a million other things I love about poolrooms.
That being said, does anyone else here share my strange love of angles who has experience playing the Asian carom game on a board? It’s a game played on a smallish (three foot square?) board using finger-flicked pieces that I only recently learned existed. It seems interesting to me, but I worry about the novelty factor wearing off. Has that been a problem for anyone else, or is the potential level of complexity such that the game could really engross us? Would spending a couple bills on a board be like dropping $100 on a Tiddly-Winks set?
Thanks in advance.
