Carson's "Off the Cuff" - enshrine it or not?

My sister got me Carson Kressley’s Off the Cuff: The Essential Style Guide for Men–And the Women Who Love Them for my birthday, partly because I shrieked like a little girl when I saw it at Barnes and Noble (I like Carson and I need fashion guidance), and partly because I really need the fashion advice.

How accurate or advisable are his suggestions? Should I memorize it and enshrine it as my fashion Bible? Or should I simply smile and seek out a real person’s advice?

Well… I didn’t like his chapter of the Queer eye book at all. Maybe it’s just only applicable to a different demographic but pretty much all of his style advice was completely useless to me.
