Cartoonists with Arm Injuries

I note that Frank Cho (who draws Liberty Meadows) and Darby Conley (Who draws Get Fuzzy) both are both claiming to have arm injuries this week. Coincidence? Perhaps.

But perhaps they are in fact the same person.

I’ve gotta say I doubt it. The drawing styles, and the type of humor, are sufficiently different between the two strips that I’d be amazed if both artists were the same person.

Anyway, Conley seems to have drawn the “Fuzzy” strips run this week, but as single panels rather than the usual three or four. How much wear and tear on his supposed arm injury is that supposed to save, anyway?

Frank Cho left the world of daily strips to do comic books/graphic novels instead. The Liberty Meadows strips we see at comics.com are reprints from five (IIRC) years ago.

Actually, it says that the current strips are from his sketchbook…

I LOVE get fuzzy btw.

Article on Conley’s injury

Darby has my sympathy, but as cartoonists with arm injuries go, I think William Messner-Loeb takes the cake.

How about Michael Caine in The Hand?
