About what I expected.
The moral. Be a good liar, a very good liar, and you’ll get away with murder.
Just heard the verdicts, and, even though I don’t think much of Casey Anthony, I have to say that I can live with the verdicts. The defense did just enough to instill reasonable doubt in the minds of the jurors. I also thought the father came across as fairly slimy to me.
Casey Anthony can’t really go back to having a normal life, can she? Perhaps she’ll pay in some other ways. The way she’s lived her life so far, perhaps she’ll find her way back to prison for something else down the line a la O.J.
I wonder what the verdict would’ve been had it been the father who was accused. I know juries are much less sympathetic towards men.
Interestingly, I guess if you’re smart enough to hide the body long enough so the evidence degrades (or like Kyron Horman) can’t be found, it’s to your advantage.
I’ll have to remember that the next time I kill someone
So I was wrong, was the only thing she was found guilty of was providing false information to law enforcement? Is this so?
LEt’s hope the IRS hangs her. She owes them 68k.
I’ll quote myself here
I’m not surprised at the verdict. The state’s case for murder was poor, and their case for the other counts equally so. It was the right decision to make legally speaking.
And lucky enough to have a hurricane come by and flood the area right after you do so.
I wonder, in general, if someone else will ever stand trial for Caylee’s death?
Hasn’t it always worked like that?
How much time will she serve for lying to the police?
She wasn’t a good liar though!
I hope they nail Cindy for perjury - it was pretty conclusively proved that she lied about her being responsible for the chloroform searches (there was no history of her searching for chlorophyll, bamboo, or any of the other stuff she said she searched). I understand why she did what she did, but I think she needs to pay the price for obstructing justice.
CNN is saying she could serve 1 year for each count. But it could also be time served.
Max 1 year in jail for each count. Even if he runs 'em consective and gives her the max on each one, she’s out in 1 year. Most likely she will be partying and looking for a new fake boyfriend this weekend.
Coming soon - the “If I did it” book.
If it’s any condolence her life is going to be a living hell from here on out. She won’t have the luxury of hiding from the world in a cell with 3 decent meals a day.
She’ll never get a job, she won’t be able to party any more, she won’t be able to show her face in public without getting harassed and spit upon. The media is going to hound her for years.
She’d be better off confessing and getting a nice quiet cell away from the world.
I wonder, do you guys actually think that Jose Baez genuinely thinks Casey didn’t murder Cayley, as he just said on the press conference?
God, I hope she gets herself fixed.
Like who? The murderer just got acquitted. Should we try an innocent person to see if we can win?
