Does anyone have the straight dope on the reasons for the cast changes on the '70s Show?
I know why Tommy Chong is gone – he’s in prison.
But why the departure of Tanya Roberts as Donna’s mother and Lisa Robin Kelly as Eric’s older sister? They were hilarious in those parts …
And Kelly’s replacement, Christina Moore, is just awful …
Tonya Roberts is rumored to have left because of drug problems. As for Lisa Robin Kelly, I have no idea.
You’re right though. She is terrible. One facial expression is all she has, and she kinda looks like Michael Jackson.
The same rumor holds true of Lisa Robin Kelly, if online buzz can be believed. Drugs and alcohol, combined with a tendency to not show up and/or be late to filming, may have doomed her gig.
I will refer to this condition as “Doyle from ‘Angel’ Syndrome.”
Wow, I heard the same thing about Angel’s Charisma Carpenter.
Charisma Carpenter had a child and can be seen as a periodic character on MissMatch.
That may be, but I was told that the reason her role was shrunk and then eliminated on “Angel” was because of substance abuse and unprofessional behaviour, not because of her pregnancy.
David Doyle from Charlie’s Angels??? I had no idea!
Hotter than Lisa Robin Kelly, though.
They should write Donna out of the show, so that Laura Prepon can work on her movie career or go to a show that doesn’t suck. Either that or cancel the trainwreck that this once-funny show has become.
Any good ideas on how to end the show? The kids all die when Eric wrecks the Vista Cruiser, Red & Kitty retire to Florida in the new “Red & Kitty Show.”
But (prior to Moore’s joining the cast) Laura Prepon, while extremely hot, is the worst, most wooden performer on the show. Her future as an actor is not promising.
Work on her movie career? None of them are what you’d call Julliard caliber, but I’d hardly call Laura Prepon, likable as she is, an impressive actress. At least you can tell that the girl playing Jackie is acting.
But of course! Why do you think he talked the way he did?
Anyone else think Red is actually Donna`s father? His name, implying his hair was red when he had some…her hair color, like neither of her parents…
Is that show still on? Shouldn’t it be about 1982 by now? The show was funny as hell the first season, but just seemed to get stale after that.
Then Red remembers what a badass he was in Robocop and that Star Trek: Voyager 2-parter, goes nuts and kills Kitty.
Easy. Eric moves to Detroit, and in thirty-five years looks exactly like his father. His intelligence but lack of motivation lead him to a life of crime, and he leads a bunch of hoodlums in a gang that eventually shoots and “kills” one Officer Murphy. The rest is cinema history.
They should end it by having Fes revealed as a criminal mastermind who then exterminates the rest of the cast when they find out his secret before going on to global domination.
GO FES!
