It starts March 9. I haven’t heard ANYTHING. But I saw it on IMBD because, being a sad, pathetic Firefly fan, I regulary check to see what the cast is doing.
I’m hopeful that Nathon will have a hit. But dammit, I want him to have a gun and long brown coat. (He’ll always be Mal Reynolds to me)
I have seen a couple ads for Castle, and it does look at least moderately interesting. I hope it does well, but I expect that at best it will run for between 2-4 seasons, or at worst get cancelled before the first season is finished.
I wish him the best. Whether I watch it or not depends on when it’s on.
The previews really haven’t interested me with all the hitting on of the policewoman who looks a bit mannish. I suppose it should be a good thing that a female lead doesn’t look like a supermodel but I think the annoying thing was all the propositioning by Fillion’s character while she just smirks. If that’s all their exchanges are going to be it will be tiresome.
It’s always fun to watch Nathan Fillion being a smartass. But have you noticed that movies and tv shows where the main character is a writer are never about writing. The writer character is always solving mysteries or being involved in romantic comedy stuff.
I can understand that. I’m a (crappy) writer myself, and the first time I wrote a novel, the main character was also a crappy writer. Did I write about him writing? No, he did everything but sit down and write. Writers writing about writing writers is just too recursive, not to mention boring. (Though occasionally somebody pulls it off in an entertaining way. In Stephen King’s novel Misery, for me the most enjoyable part was following the main character’s thought process as he works out the novel he’s trying to write.)
I’ll watch this, but it won’t be anywhere near as good as Drive was.
On the other hand, it’s two people solving crimes/murders so it’s probably the best shot a former Firefly cast-member has at having a show stay on the air for at least a full season.
Firstly, I feel I need to point out that the site referenced above isn’t the official site, it’s a fan site but I know the creator is happy when people mistake it for an official site and takes it as a compliment! And it does have way more info and has been online a lot longer than the Castle page on the ABC website.
