Castle 10/26

“1: There are no cows in space, and 2) Didn’t you wear that, like, five years ago?”

Nathan Fillion wearing that was so damn cruel. Hi-larious, but cruel.

  1. Isn’t it time to let it go?

Nah. It was a fantastic inside joke as far as I was concerned.

I don’t usually like this show, but with this episode they did a good job from start to “I’m giving you the bird” finish.

Whoosh?

Re-watched the first few minutes so many times that my arms got tired from punching the air too much.

It gave me chills…

I’ve liked the show since the beginning - but I really feal like its starting to hit its stride.

“he bit me!”

I so expected Castle to break the egg.

Apparently. Is this a Firefly reference that I am unaware of?

It was the next line the daughter said.

My guess - the “time to let go” statement is in reference to the fact that firefly has a cult like following and many of its fans (including me) hang on to hopes that there will be more.

The clothes and the dialog in that pre-plot exchange were great but what really got me was the firefly slide chord sound effect that went with his drama moves.

When Castle came out in his Poe costume, I thought at first that he was supposed to be Vincent Price. I also thought that Becket would come dressed as Nicki Heat, but I’m not sure how that would look. Maybe her own trenchcoat with a slinky low-cut dress underneath. And way too much makeup.

Loved the opening sequence. I even found it on youtube this morning, to watch again.
My husband and I were also amused by Beckett’s knowledge of Frank Miller…and half expected her to show up at the party in a “cop” costume similiar to what she wore in her role in “The Spirit”.

Very funny sequence and a good episode. I’m really starting to get into this show.

In addiiton to the references to Firefly, Buffy, and Underworld (why Underworld? I’m not sure) the victim’s name was Crow, which may be a reference to Vampire$.

Although when we were watching it, the sound was not synced with the action and kept skipping back to where it should be. Did this happen to anyone else? We were watching it on Channel 7 in Chicago via broadcast (not cable or satelite). It was pretty annoying when it was happening, and it seemed to be happening in the commercials as well, but not on the News Break.

This episode may never be deleted from my DVR

REALLY loved the opening, but then was kinda underwhelmed by the rest of the ep. Which kinda made me more critical of the opening, if what I liked best was just a blatant reference to a show I REALLY liked.

My wife REALLY likes this show. After yesterday’s ep she said it is currently her favorite thing on TV.

I don’t hate it or anything, but for whatever reason it doesn’t really grab me.
-There is something I don’t really accept about the main cop. At least put her in flats when she is out kicking down doors, will ya? Plus - even tho she is very attractive, being the pig that I am - she doesn’t really do it for me. Heck, I think Eliza Dushku is a stone cold fox, and I love all else Whedon, but I have stopped watching Dollhouse.
-Also, something about the Castle’s role w/ the police just impresses me as a tad too unbelievable.
-And I think the 2 supporting cops are probably the 2 most wooden characters on TV today.

Like I said, I don’t hate it, just trying to explain (to you and myself) why it doesn’t grab me.

Dinsdale, I hear ya. I think it’s okay, but I mostly watch it because it comes on right after the GF is done watching Dancing with the Stars. I don’t think I’d ever seek it out.

But… I have to disagree with you about the flats. *All *chicks on TV should always be in heels, appropriate or not. I can suspend my disbelief if necessary!

Yeah - it is nice to be a pig and know you are! Which is one reason I was so
shocked that a scantily clad Eliza wasn’t enough to hook me on Dollhouse!

Please don’t tell me that at age 48 I might actually be maturing! :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. But I like it.

Am I the only one who saw that line?

I don’t watch the show, but here’s a clip of the scene where Fillion wears an outfit like he wore on Firefly: Clicky, SFW.
