I don’t think he did spot the prosthetic, the cops did on the video. I could be wrong, though, as I was deliberately not paying close attention to that scene. I find it hard to watch awkward situations like that. Presuming that he didn’t notice the finger, his actions become a little more plausible; he may have been trying to get one of them to say, “Oh yeah, my associate did something like that the other night.” It worked with the cat burglar in Home Is Where The Heart Stops, so he probably figured he’d get lucky again.
Yeah, that bothers me. Castle might be the best player in the world, but you still have to work with the cards you have, and sometimes you’re just given crap. And if they’re colluding, which they certainly would be, it becomes even harder. It’s just lazy writing. Keeps the action moving, but it’s lazy.
Best I can say here is maybe they started speaking TV Russian, helpfully translated automatically for us viewers, but I find it hard to swallow.
(unintentionally (heh!) blocking her egress from the set) Stana! Is there anything I can do to help you that does not involve me moving my arm?
Really, this show wasn’t cancelled?
Good writing goes a long way. The plots may be riddled with more holes than swiss cheese, but I honestly don’t notice because I have fun just watching the interplay between the characters.
Wouldn’t a good poker fleecing strategy (one design to hook someone and then play him for everything he has including his first-born child) start with letting them win? Build the confidence (like salting a fake goldmine). Then start taking it away. At every turn your mark is going to think his luck is going to change if he can play just one. more. hand.
I’m really looking forward to some of the stuff coming up - I’ll spoiler for those that don’t want to know!
The Halloween Episode is said to feature a lot of references to previous shows related to the cast/crew - but the best bit (really, this is a huge spoiler…) Nathan Fillion dressed as Mal Reynolds from Firefly! Also coming up is an episode written by Jose Molina who also worked on Firefly as Story Editor for the series and the writer of the episode Ariel (including the Mal/Jayne/Airlock scene) and co wrote Trash too. This is going to be a GREAT episode.
