Cat on a Keyboard-A nonhijacked MMP

Proof that I am hopelessly unhip. I admire the knitterly skill to design such a thing, but actually wearing it? Perhaps it’s meant to be a modern replica of something like this.

Boss managed to send out another email misspelling my name, whilst giving people my email address. Also, Big Boss gave me the cut direct in the elevator yesterday. She got on while another guy and I were talking and she started talking to him, while completely ignoring me. Gee, I’m going to have a complex if this keeps up.

Sean, she’s beautiful.

Yawn. Made the casseroles and took a nap. Now I should wash some of the dishes and hang out until work. Don’t you envy my exciting life?

Oh, hey. Neat. A Saiidi bellydance video.

Jah your soon to be ex boss seems like a jerk.

Back from the Maul, with 2 pairs of jeans-but here is the thing. My current size 10s fit me fine-in fact, they are a bit baggy at the end of the day. I was foolish enough to think (since I have lost weight recently) that I would be either an 8 or a 10.

<loud, obnoxious buzzer sound here>

WRONG. I fit the 12s. The 10s give me camel toe (and if you don’t know what that is, I am not telling you) and the 8s don’t go over my hips. So, poop. <pouts a bit>

But I got two pairs on sale AND a black jean skirt on clearance for $7–down from $44.
Yay!

Being as I have been accused of being the king of TMI, here’s what rigs means by camel toe. Just tryin’ to live up to my rep. :stuck_out_tongue:

Who’s up for Monday? I’m off work Monday and could figure out sump’n for the MMP if nobody else has volunteered yet. Just sayin’.

Ok, now Ima go make supper.

Quick post between work and hockey. Got my Dark Angel disk set from Amazon. It has Jessica Alba in it.

meli, welcome.

swampy, you surprised me. I thought you wold post this.

First off, YAY for Tatersclan!!! And hugs, too!

Second, welcome, ame. No doubt you know that there are no rules and no limits and just by posting, you become a Cool Kid.

Third, many hugs for {{{Puggy}}}and family.

Fourth, I got a 6’ tall bookshelf today for $5. It’s obviously a cheapie, plastic veneer over particle board, but I got it to hold ceramics and stuff in my studio, so for $5, it’s wunnerful.

Fifth, I finally got my performance appraisal, and my ex branch head gave me a good write up on my big project. I ended up getting a rating a bit higher than average, but my raise/bonus is pretty much what the majority is getting, percentage-wise. Of course, with my gazillion years of service, I was pretty high on the pay scale, so the actual dollar amount is more substantial. Not huge, but every penny makes my retirement better. So yay.

Tomorrow I’ll talk with my new branch head about my objectives for this next year.

**FCD ** is running late, but it’s now time for me to make dinner - we’re having london broil in the rotisserie and whatever veggies I decide to make. Plus the critters need to be fed and dishes need to be put away. So off to the kitchen with me!

I think it’s high time one of you MMPers comes here to serve as my personal slave. I’m too nice to have to do housework, dammit!!!

When you find one, send them to my house after you’re finished with them. I asked the BiblioSon to bring in some wood for the woodstove and he sighed loudly and rolled his eyes at me. He’s only 10, dammit! That kind of attitude isn’t supposed to start for another couple of years … isn’t it?

It’s not like I asked him to chop a cord of wood or haul it in from the south forty - it’s nice little pieces, all stacked in the driveway.

As for my personal marital drama, things are continuing downhill. I believe this the beginning of the end. ::: Big sigh :::
I’m okay with it, really I am. Things have been “not right” for quite some time, so this is probably for the best.
We had it out over the weekend, and seem to have reached a point of no return. There are trust issues involved, and once you’re broken that, there’s no going back.

{{{BibKitty}}} Here’s hopin’ things work out for the best whatever that may be.

Supper ready. Waiting on ACBG. Verbs AWOL. Back Later.

Wait, didn’t we already have a Meli? I thought Meli was the guy from South Africa. OK, so he hasn’t been around the MMP in a while, but everyone should still have unique nicknames.

In any case, whatever your nickname turns out to be, welcome amelioration!

Other than that, I’ve barely kept up. It’s crazy at work this week. Gotta run! ::waves::

[sub]I could do Monday, and I haven’t in a while[/sub]
Bibcat --look at it this way: it starts early, it ends early. Trust me on this. #1 son started that whole business about age 10, now he is 15 and does stuff w/o complaint.

Ladies and Gentlemen and those somewhere in between, we have a nomination for next week’s MMP…

All in favor of rigs hostessing with the mostessing next week’s MMP say “Aye”

AYE!!!
All those opposed (oh, puhleze!) say “Nay”

::CRICKETS::

The “Ayes” have it. rigs shall regale us with Monday’s MMP OP. YAY!!!

I just walked out to the pool. I have solar lights around two sides of the pool. They look so purty reflecting off the water. Just thought I’d share. Now, off for some quality hot tub time.

What you need now, swampy, is a waterproof computer so you can post from the hot tub!

Dinner is done. Dishwasher is loaded. I’m taking a break before packing lunches for tomorrow. One more day to the weekend - this has been one long week…

Oh, shut up.

Yes, I’m a grumpus with a wumpus (whatever that may be). I just got an image of swampy living this great life in a pool with solar lights AND a hot tub. I am looking at laundry, work this weekend, and NO CHOCOLATE. So, shut up.
This message brought to by Oscar the Grouch and the Fox of Aesop fame.

Will someone please explain to this stupid cat that cats do not like oranges and in fact don’t even like the smell of citrus? He’s driving me nuts trying to get my orange!

Went to get my drugs today - apparently this drug is already approved for use in Parkinson’s Disease; this study is to see if it is effective at a lower dosage for restless leg syndrome. I also discovered that Requip, which is commonly prescibed for RLS, is a Parkinson’t drug. The way this study is set up I have two chances out of three of getting the drug - one chance in three of getting the placebo. One group gets the drug at one dosage, one group gets the drug at a different dosage, and the third group gets the placebo. I hope I got the real stuff and that it helps - my legs were really bad last night and I’m sleepy as hell today.

Other than that, no news. I lead a very boring life. There isn’t a home hockey game until the 27th.

Wee! Client disapproves of contents of large report, so no report for now. Lots more  . On the other hand, the manager told me to keep in touch, she has lots of contacts and knows lots of people in the valley. Whatever else the Firm is, it’s a fantastic place to network.

SCL, obviously, the rexing gene affects more than fur. My cats never got the memo that cats hate mint, and they love toothpaste. Weirdos.

You want links? I’ll show you links!

You’ll just die

Listen you big bear…we here in the frozen tundra, where the wind is hammering the house and the weekend forecast says sleet/snow/cold, do NOT need to hear all about the purty lights and you climbing out of the pool and nonsense like that, got it??

I mean, geez, have a heart, would ya? :dubious:

Or at least invite us over.

Excellent, Jahdra. Might as well have the whole report process go wrong rather than a mere delay.

Silly cat.

Congrats on the progress… (it is progress, right?)…with RCIA, LiLi! (Oh, cool video, too.)

I’m so glad things are moving in a positive direction, Taters. Continued hugs, prayers and good thoughts headed your way.

More hugs to you too, Puggy.

Welcome, meli! You’ll be glad to know Al has only had positive things to say about you. Stop by and don’t worry about keeping up; sometimes it’s just not possible. But it’s always fun and interesting and a great place to make friends. (And taxi, our South African MMPer is melli…not the same at all. )

Wasn’t one of the husbands supposed to be touring our humble abodes and assisting with housework?

Yay, rigs on starting the next MMP! (Will it be grumpy? :stuck_out_tongue: )

Thank you for sharing that, swampy. I didn’t even have to look, as I have already learned what camel toe is, right here on these very boards. (They fight all kinds of ignorance, don’t they!).

Hope roomie is doing better, Drae (that’s leftover from yesterday, I think).

Oh…I think the iPhone is really cool too, but it’s still too expensive. I’m thinking I won’t get one till I replace my next phone.

Weather has warmed up again. It was chilly this morning, but pleasantly mild when I left work around 6.

Had chicken soup for dinner. I’m still hungry so I think I’ll go scrounge for something else.

Resume-writing hell seems to be abating. Finally got it to semi-final stage where I could have friends read and edit. My boss and two of my colleagues read it and I’ve edited to take their comments into account. We’ve all been reading each others’. One more read and then I’m sending it off.

I’m watching season two of Remington Steele now. It’s actually much better than season one. I didn’t notice originally how radically different the two seasons were. One more episode and then I’m going off to beddy-bye.

GT

Taters - I am so glad you three were able to work things. If I may, I think it’s a sign of maturity that your daughter was willing to negotiate, compromise, and accept the terms and conditions set forth by her parents.

BooFae - YAY on becoming owned by a cat! (I, for one, welcome our feline overlords). Where are the pics? Huh?

Dude! She’s HOT!

I don’t honestly know - I think it’s still a ways away. I signed up for email updates, and I expect I shall have to wait a few months for the price to come down, or perhaps I’ll spend part of my tax refund on it. As I understand it, the initial list price is in the neighborhood of $500! (that’s some neighborhood)

Hi Meli (I like that one better, too)! I was going to say something to bring you in (since I take notes as I read because I only have access in the evening), but since you’re already here, I’ll put away the squid - Will someone else please wrangle the goat?
As for our histories, you’ll pick it all up as you go, because we tend to repeat ourselves, or at least we link to prior posts where stuff may (or may not) be explained.

Woo AND Hoo!

How many cat toys would a toy cat have if a toy cat could have cat toys?

Ok - that two pages took me over an hour! Damn you guys were chatty today.

No snow here yet, but it was severely nippy today - I actually put gloves on (which I never do, because they never help, what with my Raynaud’s and all) I’ll be extremely happy if it stays dry all winter, or only flurries now and then. No big blizzards, please. (Altho, I could ask my tenant to do the shovelling for few bucks off that month’s rent…)

Been listening to Spamalot in the car, over and over again. I haven’t seen the show yet, but now I must. I think I shall talk my friend into purchasing us tickets for our birthdays (his is the day before (but several years after) mine - hence he insists he’s older) and I will pay him back for one of the tix - that way, we’ve bought it for each other

Since I’m usually the last to post each day (at least that’s how it’s seemed this week) I’ll say Good night to all. And actually, have a good weekend - I may not post again until Sunday afternoon (and I am not taking 3 days worth of notes before I post) One of our vocal coaches is coming in for a weekend long session (Friday night and all day Saturday) plus I signed up for a private half hour lesson with her - I’m looking forward to that. So hugs where needed, jeers and cheers as appropriate, and pleasant dreams all around.
