The worst waste of a good soundtrack I’ve ever seen.
Between the bad writing and the dirty looking guy who only has one facial expression (I’d call it perplexed), I can’t believe I made it through this whole thing. The most redeeming part was laughing at the people in the theater who were gasping at cliched scenes.
This is the Jennifer Garner movie, right? I’d really like to see her make a good movie, because she has great charisma and she seems like such a sweet person to boot. Plus she’s hotter than all-get-out! I’m not expecting her to be Meryl Streep or anything, but a Julia Roberts-like career isn’t out of her reach. I hate it when actors I like can’t seem to land a good role.
Oh yeah, one of the best parts of the movie, so good that I was completely able to forget my deep, intense hatred of Michael Jackson (but I did like him back in the Thriller days).
Story by Michael Mann and directed by Peter Berg. After Very Bad Things and Friday Night Lights, I’m interested in just about anything Peter Berg directs*, so I’ll be there.
*well, I admit I haven’t had a lot of interest in The Rundown, but I’ll probably catch it one of these days.
The Rundown is fun. Campy and ridiculous, but fun. The Rock is another actor, though, whom I think should be able to be in better films now that he’s somewhat established. The guy oozes charisma and has been heralded as the next BIG action star, but he hasn’t struck gold on screen in that genre (or any other) yet.
I see her as more of a Sandra Bullock type actress. Pretty in a non-threatening way (as opposed to say, Angelina Jolie) and a moderately talented actress who picks “safe” movies. I think that Roberts is actually a better actress than either Bullock or Garner but she’s not as approachable.
That’s interesting. I wouldn’t say that I thought that her choice of Alias was all that safe, and on the whole I thought that her performance in the series was quite good and showed some complexity.
