I’m at home sitting with the radio on and going through the ritual of checking out social media and Dope sites.
In the background I’ve got BBC Radio2 playing away and not paying too much attention, and the news comes up.
In the meantime I also happen to cross the BBC news site and come across this article
Whilst reading the artical the news on the BBC mentions this story - and refers to the ongoing Child Sex Abuse inquiry that is currently running - now I’ll let you read the article for yourselves
…however the news item on the radio gives direct quotes from Cardinal Vincent Nicholls, and that is something that I can’t link to - so I’ll have to quote with a bit of paraphrase becuase I didn’t get it down exact.
Quoth Cardinal Vincent Nicholls on BBC news - " I am really very sorry, and I deeply regret it, I have to live with a very heavy burden. Some people have called for my resignation but I am not going to do that because I have important things to do and my direction comes not from them but from another place"
Yup, you got it, it’s all about him, it’s about HIS BURDEN and HIS DUTIES as commanded by a higher authority - it’s such a burden on him.
My personal view - he has been responsible for massive failure in office - in the UK this sort of failure to protect and safegaurd as the responsible person is actually a crime. He has actually committed a criminal offence by putting the interests of the church before those of the victims or the laws of the land.
It does not matter why he committed thse cover up offences, his motivations or his intentions, or his inherent good and holy charactor - those are only mitigating factors that explain his motivations and can only be considered in sentencing.
Fact is, this is the head cheese in the UK Catholic church, he knowingly and wilfully neglected his legal responsibilities as the responsible person in his organisation - and the argument that prosecuting him might not be in the public interest will not wash - the public needs to see that no-organisation is exempt from breaking the law, and other organisations need to see that not undertaking their responsibilities appropriately and not involving law enforcement is not acceptable and will be pursued with criminal legal action.
Yup it’s an easy pit but y’know FUCK HIM, its all about his heavy burden, FUCK HIM so hard and long, FUCK HIM and his fucking holiness, FUCK HIM, in a prison shower whilst he bends over to pick up the soap - FUCK HIM while Bubba the murderous phsychopath does to him what he failed to prevent happpening to hundred of children.
