Cauliflower mash instead of potatoes

I agree with that and it’s the reason I’m not a fan of meat substitutes like Tofurkey. Since you already know what the thing they’re trying to emulate should taste like, you’re disappointed by the substitute. Instead, why not eat something entirely different?

Keep me posted, IMs if you prefer. I’ll go on the ride with you.

Know that the battle is at least 99% mental. Get your head in the game and keep it there. Challenge yourself. Be stubborn. Reinforce yourself regularly with all the reasons to get this done.

And if you fall off for a day, don’t use that as an excuse to confirm that you have failed; consider it a soft reset and a tool for re-motivation.

Thanks mmm. I may just take you up on that. Have you been in the induction phase for over a year?

Yes. But even then you can easily gain weight if you are not careful.

I’ve actually been counting calories as well since the first of this year as my weight plateued from October through December.

Also of note, I do intermittent fasting. I eat only between noon and 8 pm. There have been a handful of times I broke this rule, but that has been extremely rare.

Just add another voice, I went hardcore Keto and found it pretty tolerable and effective. I agree with the posters who have said that it’s not the kind of thing that’s made easier by easing into it. Go all in. The first few days will be a piece of cake. The first couple weeks will be mostly painless if you manage not to cheat and tease yourself. The weight does come off pretty quick once you get into ketosis. Cheat days will prevent you from ever getting into ketosis since it takes at least 72 hours before your body switches energy modes.

That said, I gave it up. I’m fortunate that I’m not dealing with serious weight or health issues and my keto adventure was just to try to tame the dad bod a bit. While keto is the fastest and easiest way I’ve found to drop weight and keep it off, it’s also not a lifestyle I want to keep forever. I like pizza and french fries and I’d rather have them while counting calories and exercising. YMMV.

Just wanted to mention that we call those faux-tatoes when we make them.,

Depending on WHY you are cutting back on potatoes. This is a good read on resistant starches.
