I can’t imagine that any government would be willing to do this. The risk-versus-reward is just way too high. I think it’s mostly likely to be some terrorist splinter group.

I have been undecided about whether it seems best to prosecute or otherwise pursue judicial justice against Trump and the rest of his swamp. My opinion has been made. Fomenting and supporting a literal forced occupation of the capitol? Prison for the lot of them, for the sake of the nation.
I don’t think they’ll actually attack the US, but making up a fake threat and attributing it to Iran can still serve some purpose.
