Cecil Adams kicks the bucket.

This is from
The Post and Courier, about halfway down the page. I opened the newspaper to read the obits on my 15 minute break, and imagine my suprise to see Cecil as the first listing! Then I realized that Cecil probably never lived in Beaufort, and he probably never hawked food at a bluegrass festival. Well, maybe, but probably not for 11 years.

Kind of freaky, ain’t it?

Cecil was a Baptist!?

Sorta changes my whole world view.

Hey, I’m from Beaufort! Of COURSE he could have lived there, it is a wonderful place to semi-retire!

Well Rest in Peace anyway.

I can completely believe that if Cecil had a daughter he would name her Bessie Smith.

You have a 15 minute break and you use it to read *Obituaries * ?

[Cecil Adams]
The reports of my death are greatly exagerated.
[/Cecil Adams]

In honor of his mother, of course.

Knead
Who is turning his ability to misread simple things into an art

Damhna, I use my 15 minute break to read the paper. I read the obituaries out of habit. Oh, and just for :stuck_out_tongue: factor, I have two 15 minute breaks and a half hour lunch break.

Can’t you see Cecil, building bookshelves in his spare time, slinging chilidogs at the bluegrass festival, and dressing up in his finest seersucker suit every Sunday to head on down to the church?

Nah, neither can I.

I wonder how many Cecil Adams there are?

It kind of…disillusions me to think there is more than one.
