Just read this great new book by a Richard Roper, who apparently does movie reviews.
Its a bout urban legends, including some I’d never heard before, like the cell phone in the dog.
He mentions one(I can’t recall which) that Cecil had done a column on.
Though he puts it like this, Cecil Adams(Ed Gotti) as if theyw ere the same person and if Ed is now a menber of the Gotti family!
ha!
I’m lost. . .
Roper referenced Cecil in a column, or did they both cover the same urban legend? Are you saying Roper indicates he ‘knows Ed like family’?
Tripler
And I believe it’s “Ed Zotti”
Lets hope this doesn’t hijack into a Cecil = Ed Zotti thread.
Ghoti = fish.
No, no folks. The Dapper Don is dead. Long live Ed Gotti!
vanilla: You mean this guy?
Actually he was kind of mentioned in All Tomorrows Parties by William Gibson.
In it one of the characters mentions how he ‘read somewhere’ that glass is a l iquid and that if left alone long enough it would turn into a puddle but it never lasts that long.
Pretty sweet eh?
Roper is the film critic I believe, who work with Ebert.
Yes! That guy.
Also, Ask Jeeves book mentions Cec too.
He gets around…
Everyone knows Cecil has mob ties. How do you think he knows so much? He asks people for information-and if he doesn’t get it, he makes them wear cement shoes and sleep with the fishes.
But please, whatever you do, don’t ask him about the family business!!!
