So I was having trouble staying awake, and I turned on the TV and started flipping through the channels.
I got to Cartoon Network, and couldn’t believe my eyes. They’re showing something called Time Squad (TV Guide channel says it’s 11:30-12:00 EST), and they have this robot chef character that looks exactly like Slug’s renderings of Cecil. Not just a slight resemblance either, he’s exactly identical.
Is this coincidence? Or is Slug (or the Almighty Cecil) moonlighting for CN?
The Larry 3000 is one of the main characters of the show. He never reminded me of Slug’s renditions of Unca Cecil (usually a bird with a mortarboard), so it’s just coincidence.
Hmm, I guess it’s just me then.
I thought the head looked very similar to one version of Cece I’d seen a little while back. But just now I pulled up about 30 articles at random from the archives and didn’t find a single picture (which is strange in itself - I didn’t realize the illustrations were that uncommon), so I can’t check.
…and now Time Squad’s been cancelled, damn Cartoon Network to hell.
If Cecil was on, I’d watch.
But only if Beany was with him.
