Celebrities physical deformties - Are these all real? Some seem over the top

Re this link

Are any of these photoshopped? The Bollywood Hero guy has a freakshow hand.

Now that I have had a good view of Megan Fox’s thumb, I have decided to turn down her proposal of marriage. Ewwww!!

Actor Gary Burghoff appeared regularly on TV throughout the '70s, and most people didn’t realize he had a markedly deformed hand until he revealed it on a PSA in the mid '80s.

Shia LaBeouf’s left hand is deformed. It was crushed in an accident and had to be surgically rebuilt with bone transplants.

Daryl Hannah is missing about half of a finger on her left hand. She wears an artificial finger to conceal it during filming.

Also the article mentions heterochromia (having eyes of two different colors). What it doesn’t mention is that it’s genetically linked to having webbed toes. Dan Aykroyd, Elizabeth Berkley, Kate Bosworth, David Bowie, and Jane Seymour all supposedly have both differently colored eyes and webbed toes.

Bowie’s eyes aren’t a matter of genetics - it’s a result of an injury received in a fight as a teenager. He almost lost his left eye, and still doesn’t see properly out of it. (They’re also not actually different colours - that’s an illusion caused by his left pupil being permanently dilated, making that eye appear darker.)

If we’re going to list celebrity injuries and deformities, there’s also Jerry Garcia, who was missing a large chunk of his right middle finger, and Tommy Iommi, who is missing the tips of his middle and ring fingers on his right hand.

Never stopped either of them playing guitar, though Iommi had artificial fingertips made to help him.

Childhood surgery gone wrong? Nice coverstory, but everybody knows that there are only two explanations for a missing belly button: clone or pod person!

No, it’s that some photo editor inherited a computer from his late brother who lived near an old Indian burial ground. He found the computer was haunted, and whatever photo retouching he did on it would translate into real life. After a series of mishaps that killed several supermodels, he decided he had to destroy it rather than keep it any longer to fix something as trivial as a missing bellybutton.

I’ve heard that Alfred Hitchcock had no belly button due to childhood surgery. But I imagine there were fewer people interested in confirming it with him than there are in Karolina Kurkova’s case.

Some of those look fake. I wondered on the extra toe thing if it’s like that one Marilyn Monroe picture, and just the way the side of the foot is bulging.

I had a student last year with no belly button. Her stomach had even less of an indentation than the model’s. It always made me a bit uncomfortable to look at, but she just thought it was funny. It was a result of surgery when she was a baby.

It was probably the acid.

I have that “overlapping pinky toe” thing, but not full-time; I just have individual movement in one pinky toe.

I’ve had two girlfriends with no navels. In at least one case (probably both), it was the result of a c-section delivery.

My thumbs are twice as stubby as hers. My last thumb bone is about half as long as it should be.

I have a third nipple (and possibly a fourth, doctor wasn’t sure but it is in the right spot) and it’s not that uncommon – about 1 in 100. I didn’t realize it until I got pregnant and the extra nipples morphed a bit. They didn’t lactate and don’t have any particular extra sensation.

For something like Denzel’s pinky, why not get it fixed? I’d think that having a finger jutting out at a funny angle makes it more likely you’ll injure that finger.

And I wouldn’t call different colored eyes a “physical defect”. I think it’s kind of neat! what do you put down for eye color on your driver’s license?

I don’t know about the others, but Hrithik Roshan does indeed an extra thumblet on that hand. It’s not terribly noticeable in the movies, but if you look it’s there.

Ever since I found out, I love watching for it in MASH. Now that I know, I can see it all the time, but before I never would have guessed!

Just use her for the thumb for awhile, then dump her.

David Bowie also has differently colored eyes, but not because of heterochromia. He got in a fight as a kid and was punched in the eye, and the iris in that eye changed color as a result of blood leaking into it.

A friend of mine in college had two differently colored eyes. I’m not sure it’s as rare a condition as the article makes it out to be.

James Doohan (“Scotty”) also had a couple of missing fingers (thanks to D-Day: yes he was part of the first Canadian wave hitting the beaches).

Here’s an one that probably everyone knows:

James Doohan had his middle finger missing on his right hand. He lost it in World War II to bullet fire, one of which hit a metal lighter over his chest and mostly bounced off, but one that was embedded in his finger, which later required amputation. He actually had the option of getting it put back on, but it would have been immobile. He joked that it would have been like perpetually giving Hitler the finger.

And, yes, Megan Fox’s thumb is fine, even if I don’t really find the actress that attractive, at least for Hollywood.

ETA: Curse you John DiFool! :stuck_out_tongue:
