Celebrities you find strangely attractive

That particular shot minimizes the appearance of her bust, which while not large is a bit beyond flat.

I think a better description for this thread would be “celebrities that are not conventionally attractive, but you are attracted to them anyway”. Some people just don’t fit the idea of what most people think is attractive, yet for some people, the large nose or mixture of odd features just “works”.

I think Tilda Swinton is a good example. Her basic features are not what many would find attractive on a woman, and she would probably be low on most peoples list of attractiveness, but many, myself included, fine her attractive anyway.

I, too, find Joan Cusack oddly attractive, and have gotten many a strange look from my friends when I mention this.

But Enya? Does any substantial amount of people truly think her unattractive? She is a gorgeous woman, and has possibly the most beautiful eyes in the world.

Ah, taste is so objective.

Maura Tierney. She’s actually rather plain, but she always looks good. Not super-hot, but wholesome and attractive. Also, a very talented character actor.

This topic comes up semi-regularly, and I’m always surprised at how many people name conventionally beautiful women.

The name I’ve offered myself is Mary Woronov (“Eating Raoul,” “Scenes From the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills”) … because in every movie I’ve seen her in, I’ve alternated between thinking “That is the most amazingly beautiful woman I’ve ever seen” and thinking, “What the… she’s HIDEOUS!”

THAT seems like the very definiton of “strangely” attractive. At any given moment, I may find her breathtakingly beautiful or absolutely repulsive- in the SAME movie!

Beat me to it, ya bastard.

I cannot explain why i find Kathy Bates so attractive, It may be some earth mother thing. Kathy Bates - IMDb

The lady in this commercial.

Good grief, when the commercial opens she looks like Diedrich Bader. I think that’s what weireds me out the most.

But later in the commercial she just sort of looks like a somewhat kooky-but-cute person.
OK, she’s not a celebrity but I think I still got the theme thing right.

The thing about Tierney is that yes, she is gorgeous. However, she always looks so sad. Sad in her shows, sad in real life. BUT! I really dig that in a woman. So yes, she’s beautiful, but there is something about her that turns most people off, but that particular thing turns me on.

Giovanni Ribisi.

Martha Plimpton. She’s not going to get put on the cover of a fashion magazine even as a quirky choice, but she has a vibe about her (which says, to me, “I am more fun than you should be allowed to have.”) I’ve actually met her, and it works in person as well.

Amy Sedaris.

In Annie Hall, I find that shot of Shelley Duvall in bed, wearing a camisole, smoking a cigarette, really erotic. Apart from that, she’s one of the most unattractive actresses ever.

(Maybe she wasn’t smoking – maybe that was Diane Keaton. But it’s definitely SD and not DK that I find attractive in that film.)

Illeana Douglas

Yeah. Except in “Wild at Heart” Shudder!

And here’s the sad thing: because of the way these threads go…I believed it for a minute or two.

Howard Stern. Find him thoroughly unfunny and lame, but I LOVE the nose, the bone structure, the thin, the height, the hands, the hair… my kinda yum. Plus the voice.

Bill Nye the Science Guy and Steve Jobs – what can I say? I love a man with a brain.

Suzi Barrett, whom you may have seen in a Metamucil commercial.

I know I’m far from the only one who finds Keira Knightly hot, and that such a view is hardly controversial. But I’m not sure why. It’s certainly not her figure, and her face, while nice, isn’t nice enough to completely account for the attraction (I can name plenty of other celebrities with better faces but who are less attractive overall). Best I can figure is that it’s something in the way she moves, since still pictures don’t generally seem to do her justice.

Grace Jones. I can’t call her pretty, but DAMN, I bet she can shag!
