Celebrities You Irrationaly Hate

I absolutely agree with this, he was my first choice. I also saw some mentions of Lena Dunham and the Kardashians, count me in!

Yeah yeah. I’ve tried watching Bigger Than Life (it’s Cortisone, by the way) and Lolita. Can’t do it.

Well the good news for you is that he died in 2015.

I think we’re getting away from the “irrationally” here. If you have a reason to hate them because of something they said or did, or even because their acting sucks, then it’s not irrational.

Leonardo Dicaprio … I have never seen the movie Titanic because he was the love interest. All I can picture him as is the kid in Whats eating
Gilbert Grape and that is not leading man material… did watch the recent one where he gets mauled by a bear tho.

And he almost ruined Gangs of New York. He paled before Daniel Day-Lewis. He is not a tough guy.

Right. ISTM what we’re really talking about is people you find unappealing due to (mostly) physical reasons; because really, what’s more irrational than disliking someone because of the way they look?

I can’t stand Nicki Minaj on a few different levels. Her music, her voice, her persona . . . all perfectly rational reasons to dislike her. Her ugly face and fat arse? Not rational, but nonetheless a source of dislike.

Hating Julio Iglesias because his singing is completely smarmy is perfectly rational. Dude can make songs about drinking yourself to death because your woman left you sound like he’s pondering the need for a fresh manicure.

Getting angry by finding myself in the situation of explaining to supposed soccer fans that it actually makes perfect sense for him to get an interview in the sports section talking about soccer, since he was famous as a soccer player before going into singing, is not rational. I should get mad at the idiotic supposed fans, not at him.

Kyle Mooney
Kat Dennings
Paul from Sprint, formerly of Verizon
DJ Kahled (probably spelled wrong, dislike him too much to bother checking)

Irrational hatred: Michael Douglas. Can’t stand the man, never have, for no reason I’m aware of.

Rational hatred: Trebek. For many reasons.

Well then, if you get a chance to watch Samantha Who? it might mitigate your hate of Christina Applegate.

I agree that a lot of posts here describe perfectly rational reasons to dislike someone. They may be petty or ill-informed, but there’s a logical reason.

I irrationally hate Beck for some reason. I think I can only name one of his songs, “Loser”. Not my kind of thing, but not a terrible song. There are tons of way worse and more annoying songs that come and go on the radio without me caring much. But for some reason, I just want to punch his big stupid face. No idea why. I understand he’s made lots of good music, and as far as I know he’s a real swell guy. But for some reason, I hear about him and…

I have an ongoing Irrational Hate List. Number one is Leonardo DiCaprio. Number two is Eddie Redmayne. As far as women, I loathe and despite Amy Schumer and Amy Poehler. Minnie Driver and January Jones are also on that list.

I thought Katherine Hepburn and Julia Roberts had very unpleasant facial expressions.

I saw a picture of the cast of According To Jim the other day which reminded me how the mere sight of Jim Belushi’s face used to rankle me.

I’ve known of folks originally from Chicago who’ve loathed or so they claim Jim’s high visibility presence at Chicago sporting events.

A stopped clock is right 2 times a day and I sometimes agree with Donald Trump. I agree that Meryl Streep is overrated and her breathy voice annoys me.

Re: Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham, very rational. I could see how Rogen and Fey annoy someone but I like them.

Re: Neil deGrasse Tyson, he needs to stay off Twitter, and he is frequently wrong about science stuff.

Re: Oliver Sacks: prosopagnosia is quite common. Maybe 2.5% of people.

Juliette Lewis was annoying even before I knew she was a Scientologist.

I have five perfectly rational reasons to hate Tom Cruise:

  1. He boned Rebecca DeMornay, and I didn’t.
  2. He boned Mimi Rogers, and I didn’t.
  3. He boned Nicole Kidman, and I didn’t.
  4. He boned Penelope Cruz, and I didn’t.
  5. He boned Katie Holmes, and I didn’t.

I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but I used to have a humongous crush on Nicholas Cage. I’m not given to celebrity crushes, either. I first fell for him in The Rock, because he played a total wimpy geek who had to toughen the hell up. Then he went through a period of being in great films - Adaptation was one of his finest. Then… Something happened. Something terrible and I can no longer justify liking him. I am just embarrassed for him. I feel terrible saying that but he’s been in a lot of bad shit lately.

He does have a sense of humor about!

Yeah. He always looks like he smells bad.

Especially James Spader. I hate-hate-hated sex, lies and videotape.

I’d like to add Celine Dion, and the Olsen twins.

He’s probably a cool person. I had a friend run into him at a comic shop, probably at the height of his popularity, and he talked enthuastically to my friend about Superman, and was by all accounts pretty chill.
