For me, its Barry Williams aka Greg Brady. I hate his cheery sachirine sweet demeanor. I hate that his face had morphed into a human version of a Shar Pei. I hate he bragged about having sex with Florence Henderson.
In reality, I am sure he is a pleasant fellow who loves kids and animals. He came off very sympathetically in his celebrity boxing match against Danny Bonaduce…who we can rationally hate. I guess this hatred was born in childhood when my sisters made we watch the Brady Bunch. I haven’t been able to let this loathing go .
Does anyone else have similar irrational feelings towards anyone famous?
Can’t say I hate them, because they’ve never done anything for or to me except try to entertain me, but Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler both majorly creep me out.
Maybe I worded it awkwardly. I meant irrationally to mean there is no real reason to hate him (criminal behavior, racist rants, etc). The hatred comes from somewhere else inside of ourselves.
Meg Ryan
Sandra Bullock

Those are the first two that come to mind instantly. I know there are more, but I don’t really want to think about people pissing me off irrationally.
Cloris Leachman. I suppose it’s not 100% irrational, because it started when I read a quote from her that I didn’t like, but I’ve long since realized she probably didn’t even say it. Now I just hate her for the sake of hating her. It’s particularly annoying because she shows up in so many things: “That new show looks interesting – oh wait, it’s got Cloris Leachman…hmmm, I might want to see that movie – NO! Not Cloris Leachman!”
Heh, good question. There are always a couple of actors that bother me for no strong, specific reason. Nicole Kidman is one (though I ended up with a few reasons later), although she was tolerable in “The Others.” Christopher Walken feels like biting on tinfoil. Julia Roberts gave me the heebies (is she even acting anymore?). I am always creeped out by Kevin Spacey, even though I know he’s a decent actor–maybe he’s just too typecast for me. Similarly, if I hear Nick Cage is in anything, I irrationally don’t want to see it.
I don’t have much of an opinion about the younger crop of actors. I don’t watch as many newer movies, or at least not blockbuster-type stuff, so nobody really stands out yet.
I strongly dislike activist celebrities.
They are certainly entitled to their own private opinions.
Imho they shouldn’t use their celebrity status as a soapbox. Their opinions are no more informed than my own.
The Anti-vaxxers are especially dangerous and are already responsible for several health outbreaks.
I hate pretty much all of them, but it’s because I’m a loser and I’m just jealous of their fame, money and fantastic lives. Goddammit, I want a Ferrari!
I kinda like Kimi Rikkonen, though. I bet he’d be fun to party with. And Dave Grohl. He fuckin’ rocks! And he loves his Mom!
