The BS Boys were an utter embarassment. “You’re who? Trace who?” Little men with little brains. Singing machines that know nothing about music. They should have been grovelling on the floor, licking Trace’s shoes and thanking him for the opportunity to do it. Wheat germ juice? Some celebs (like Elton John) accept no money for charity performances. I bet these bastards charged for the gig.
He was working for them, they weren’t working for him. He should have been more professional. Catering to prima donnas and their inane demands is part of the job. It’s not like Trace doesn’t know that. I doubt that the riders for country acts are any less absurd.
Yeah I do think they exploited this scene a little for the awkwardness value, but it is basically standard operating procedure for bands to have a detailed list of what they require in their dressing room. And Trace was probably right, a lot of the stuff is probably not really necessary, which is what I thought he was going to talk to the manager about, but I never heard a word from him at the meeting.
Trace may be huge in country music, but he’s not exactly a household name outside of it. It’s not like he’s Louis Armstrong or something.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Piers and I like Trace. I definitely think Piers deserved it…I agree with Diogenes that he’s the best Apprentice player of all time. Trace, I don’t know, it’s hard to tell if he or Carol would be better competition for Piers. I think Carol was a little bit too behind-the-scenes, so it’s hard for me to assess how much of a role she had in winning challenges. So, I’m not bothered so much that Trump picked Trace, it was the reason he did it…like Carol couldn’t put up a good fight because she’s a girl. What a tool.
Trace is going to get his ass handed to him. Marilu was handling the rider just fine and Trace wants to micromanage it? You save maybe $50 by cutting out some bottled water, veggie tray, etc. I don’t think a cup of tea is unreasonable, and I have to believe it is possible to get wheat germ in New York. I do not agree with his decision to wait until the next day to purchase an exact amount of food and drinks. Lennox had the right idea, they need to chug along and keep crossing off todos.
If it bothered Trace that much, a bold move would have been to fire the Backstreet Boys on the spot and perform himself at the event. That’s pretty much the only way he would be deserving of the win, otherwise, Trump is just handing it to him for good TV.
I do think Stephen Baldwin will come through with celebrities, and the producers are editing the show to increase dramatic tension. Piers picked him because he is the only person besides himself with any realistic chance of getting celebrities on such short notice, by virtue of his blood relatives. As such, Stevie B was the correct choice for Piers.
I predict we will see some bogus “problems” before the event, which are fixed by the “masterful” Project Managers, thereby justifying them as picks in the final two. But ultimately, Piers will blow Trace out of the water in money raised, which will cause Trump to declare him the victor. The edits are already showing this… Piers scoring Fergie and Trace bemoaning the simple task of providing drinks?
That would actually be great; I don’t think either the BSB or Trace would be a particularly large draw in NYC anyway. BSB maybe 15 years ago.
Great point! I am constantly amazed that Trace can wear a cowboy hat in business meetings and it is never considered un-business-like or tacky. Then again, watching him rag on the BSB (“shouldn’t they be men by now?”) was pure entertainment!

I get that the good 'ol boys aren’t in the same league as Piers Morgan’s friends, but I don’t believe that they can’t afford to bid on some of this stuff in the auction. Trace is acting like they aren’t able to afford it, and he looks very uncomfortable with the whole situation.
Also, why the hell did they get the Backstreet Boys? I’m sure plenty of relevant musicians would have done this event to get on television. It doesn’t look like a very fun party to me.

I didn’t get Trace’s logic about How Piers somehow insulted his people. I also didn’t see his point about his people not being as rich as Piers’ people. So what? Being able to bring in big donors was part of the challenge.
I can’t understand why Piers is being attacked in this board room. Piers won. By a mile. I’m sorry that wasn’t how the script was supposed to go, but those are the breaks.
Trace needs to get off this fucking high horse. he’s completely full of crap. He just sounds like a sore loser. I’m also getting really sick of hearing about his fucking kid with the food allergies. Piers is playing for disabled veterans. His charity is very bit as good an honorable as Trace’s.
Speaking of kids, why did this show let Trace see his family but not Piers?
I feel like Piers kicked ass in this game like nobody ever has and he’s getting shafted just because he’s not an American.
I don’t get it either. Trace does act like he’s such a better person than Piers. It gets on my nerves. And what was Trump talking about when he mentioned what the Baldwin is doing with his life? I don’t think it matters at all what he is doing. It has nothing at all to do with this show, which he was already thrown off of.
Trump makes no sense with who he likes and for what reason. Did they ever give an elaborate explanation as to exactly what they were looking for in a winner? Because like Piers just said, if it was a popularity contest, he and others might have played it differently. Silly him for thinking it was going to be about business.

Can this finale be any lamer? They are clearly telegraphing Trace to win, what with having him perform, even though by all rights it should be Piers.

At least they balanced it somewhat with showing who Piers is playing for. They can’t boo wounded vets.
Trace is trying to argue that his charity’s better again. First of all it isn’t. second of all, if it’s all about who has the most worthy charity then why have any tasks at all?
Well, the Hair got it right at the end. I feel better. I think Piers was most dominant player this show has ever had. That had to be recognized.
