Correct! And I think that tied for 30th is going to be the best I do all year, as, to my knowledge, none of my picks are ill.
Wow. Seeger was married for seventy years! That’s one heck of a marriage.
It finally killed him.
Seeger’s wife died last year. Not funny, Loach.
Seeger came to see Woody Guthrie, Arlo’s Daddy, when he was dying in the hospital. They were both folk musicians.
Seeger said in an NPR interview that Woody had taught him how to jump a freight.
I think you might be in the wrong thread.
But in the words of Gordon Lightfoot,
you can’t jump a jet plane
the way you can a freight train.
This is the Death Pool! Of course death is funny here.
Jokes about some folks death are tasteless even for the SDMB Death Pool.
I didn’t agree with Seeger’s leftest politics but I enjoyed a lot of his music. Some of his songs were sung by the folk group Peter, Paul and Mary, whose politics I didn’t agree with either, but whose music I loved.
I’ll take “Things Never Before Said in a Death Pool Thread” for $1000, Alex
I freely admit it wasn’t my best. I will try harder for the next dead guy.
Broke the color barrier in cartooning.
I remember that strip, and the TV cartoon “Kid Power” it spawned, but knew nothing about its creator.
Thanks for the link, that was a good article. He was friends with Charles Schulz, and his comic strip gaining popularity after MLK’s death was a bittersweet experience for him.
As I noted in another thread, the recently deceased Russell Johnson had two thirty-year marriages.
How does one calculate cat years? Although it’s doubtful anyone had him.
Regretfully, he wasn’t human
I see no reason that insults should be your prerogative as Death Mistress. :dubious:
I see your point. Wasn’t it Mark Twain who said that if man was crossed with a cat it would improve the man and degrade the cat?
I believe that was either Rosie’s Poetics or Maimonodies Guide for the Perplexed.
Perhaps both; Maimonodies was known to crinb from Rosie.
