Celebrity Death Pool 2014

How do they feel about Clayton Lonetree?

Pretty much the same.

Mike Parker, typographer and historian, died on February 23rd, 2014, age 84.

Never heard of this guy before I read this article, but he is responsible for popularizing Helvetica and making it the default Apple Macintosh font.

As I had it told to me, a Marine is forever. Unless, you were dishonorably discharged, in which case you cannot even claim to have ever been a Marine. Ever.

This could be hoax or a lost opportunity for 81 points.

Two months and change into the year and my celebrities have never felt better.

Join the club, mine too. So you’re not alone, swampbear.

I wonder how many of us have zero points in this contest?

165-36=129

NC state senator Martin Nesbit dead at 33 points. I know nobody had him, but I feel this is worth mentioning because he retired Tuesday, came home Wednesday, and died Thursday.

Tasteful reply: Stomach cancer? I’m glad it was quick.

Tasteless reply: Finally someone in the General Assembly in Its Infinite Wisdom got something accomplished!

If you wait long enough by the bank of the river, you shall see the bodies of your enemies-and some of your Death Pool Picks-float past.

On behalf of those of us who do not read every single post in this thread (that includes me), or who knew the answer and may have forgotten (that does not include me), and who could not find that 165 people are in the contest going back to post #800 (because that information is not there), I thank you.

I do not have vision problems, however, so did not need the enlarged font size.

ETA: I’m pretty sure this is the first and only time I asked that question, too.

Ooohhhh, snarky, are we?

Get a grip, I was simply answering the question. The enlarged answer was to set it apart from the rest, a bit of a joke.

BTW, Bullitt, in post # 987 you seem to be speaking of yourself as playing this game. I don’t find your name on my players spreadsheet. Have you changed your username or something?

Fear Itself, Bullitt did change their original username, and after my post did inform me of that by PM.

Sheila MacRae has died but, how old was she?

She was a stage and tv actress (The 60’s revival of The Honeymooners) one-time wife of Gordon MacRae, and mother of the late Merideth and Heather, both actresses.

I’ve seen her age given at 90, 92, and 93. Wiki has her birth year in 1920, IMDB has it at 1924. I didn’t have her in the pool, but I’m curious as to what reference source we use to determine age?

In the past, if date of birth could not be confirmed, the oldest date (least points) was used.

That is correct, oldest age, least points. But in this case the point is moot, as nobody had her. See rule #5 in the OP.

I wish celebrities were honest, it would make the job easier!

Well, if Ms. MacRae was really born in 1924, then she would have married Gordon while she was 16 years old!

(Of course there are some celebs who lied that they were older to get into the military during WWII… Hugh Hefner, as one example.)
