Celebrity Death Pool 2014

Some of the people who lost everything in the savings and loan crash retaliated by harassing the people responsible. One way was to stake out their offices and throw water, or flour, on them. I don’t know offhand if Keating specifically was a target of this harassment, but I clearly remember news video of elderly women throwing flour at designer-suit-wearing bankers.

(I was also cheering for the old ladies. I believe there’s a special place in hell for people who scam the elderly.)

Naturalist Peter Matthiessen, an award-winning American author who helped create the Paris Review and brought to life tales from the wilderness centered on his excursions to faraway lands, died on Saturday at age 86

Comedian John Pinette, 50, has made his last trip to the buffet.

Oh, no! :frowning:

This is awful! He was one of my favorite comedians. So sad. (plus of course he was not on my list…)

TMZ is reporting that actor Micky Rooney has died at 93.

Chuck Stone, journalism pioneer, dies at 89
New York Daily News - ‎1 hour ago‎
The long-time journalist and educator was one of the founders of the National Association of Black Journalists, the first black columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News and a professor at the University of North Carolina for 14 years.

I guess more riff-raff will make the scoring table now;)

Oh yeah, my condolences:o

Just checking out the Dope before going to work, I’ll do the points on Rooney this afternoon. Six people had him, by the way. And they were all virgins in this year’s game.

I think I had Rooney.

Does that mean six people have been de-flower-ed or de-flour-ed?

I was thinking about picking him. But he was too short. On points.

Peaches Geldof, middle daughter of Saint Bob and Paula Yates, has gone with a heap of points, it seems.

Wow. Another reason for Bob Geldof to not like Mondays.

Ah, my plans for the lowest possible score are working perfectly!

Who’s this 12543 upstart?

There goes the neighborhood!

Also one of the Tuskagee Airmen. I actually met him, briefly, when my previous workplace had the Tuskagee Airmen visit.

James Hellwig, better known as pro wrestler The Ultimate Warrior, dies at 54.

I was talking about wrestling with coworkers yesterday and I mentioned I saw Andre the Giant and Ultimate Warrior live. Why the fuck haven’t I done a pro-wrestling themed list yet? It seems like it’d be good odds at least one would die for big points.
