I saw TLGF in the theater, when it first came out. I don’t know why I went, it was not the kind of film I normally would go to see. But it was truly a good movie, and it was the first time I ever saw Hoskins in a film.
Now those of you who’ve seen it, tell me. In the Turkish bath scene did you scrunch your eyes up and ask yourself “Is that Pierce Brosnan?”
Hoskins did have a gift for comedy though, as anyone who’s seen “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” would agree.
The man who edited classic comics like Tales From the Crypt, Mad Magazine, EC Comics, Weird Science and others passes away to haunt the Crypt Keeper himself.

Efrem Zimbalist Jr., a staple of 1960s and ’70s TV as the star of ABC dramas “77 Sunset Strip” and “The F.B.I.,” has died. He was 95.
As a young kid in the 60s watching F.B.I., just seeing his name in the credits while hearing the show’s announcer say his name, a name like thatwas just a wonderment to my eyes and ears.

His father, maestro concert violinist Efrem Zimbalist Sr. lived to be 95 or 96. (Wikipedia is unsure of his birth year).
Seems as if that family has got some serious longevity genes.
I had him in 2013’s DP, when I tried a strategy of picking celebrities in their nineties. But not this year.
